New WM member: Author Chrishawn Simpson

I had the pleasure of becoming friends with Chrishawn on facebook about a week ago. She introduced herself after I accepted her friend request, which anyone hardly does, and seemed very warm and kind. She wanted to know about my writing and I was equally curious about hers. After reading about 3 of her excerpts from her now released novel, Broken Spirit, I immediately knew that I wanted to support her in any way I could. I was very excited for her to hear that her novel was released on yesterday, July 5th 2010, and I immediately reached out to her in wanting to help expose her work. Broken Spirit is a must read for women of all ages and I strongly believe it is going to touch so many lives in so many ways. You can visit her website at http://chrishawnthewriter.com/ to read the novels' summary and excerpt and also to purchase your copy of Broken Spirit. I have included the summary below just to give you a quick glimpse into what the book is about. Many blessings to Chrishawn and her continuous journey of blessing the world with a story that needs to be told and embraced.

"An emotionally gripping story of a young girl turned young woman who suffered years of sexual, physical and emotional abuse at the hands of men she trusted. The outcome of enduring many years of such unspeakable abuse lead to an empty life filled with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, sleepless nights, drug abuse, and a suicide attempt.

Take a journey with Elle, the recipient of twenty-plus years of painful, earth-shattering, and mind-numbing abuse. Her road to recovery is a treacherous one. She is filled with many doubts, consumed with many fears and bogged down with a whole slew of insecurities. She is, in fact, just a shell of a woman. She is void of true emotion and holds on to the unearned guilt of her past. She can’t escape her mind or the evil men who have put her in this place of loathsome despair.

She dreams of a better life. She would kill for one. She knows there is a more positive way of existence, but she doesn’t know how to obtain it. She does everything she can to numb the pain so she doesn’t have to feel the hurt that runs so deep there seems to be no end. She can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel or the proverbial pot of gold at the end of the rainbow because of the lurking shadows of her broken innocence that loom, not only in her background, but right in her path.

Broken Spirit…. A story so intriguing, so horrid, so raw it couldn’t possibly be true, but it is."
